Louisa Lam was born and raised in Hawaii. She earned her MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College. She’s waited tables, worked PR, edited everything from medical journals to recipes, and composed bar listings. She lives in Brooklyn and is currently a security guard at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
